Really this post is about Saturday, but I am going to start with Friday evening.
Trent had a baseball game Friday night. About 5 minutes into the game it started to rain, no thunder or lightning though. The first two innings our team was a complete mess, they kept dropping the ball and overthrowing it, allowing the other team to have a score of 9 -0 in the bottom of the second inning. By now, it had really started to rain hard, so Donald, myself, Tanner, Kolby, and Brooklne were huddled in a mass under the unbrellas. Then something happened, our boys started to really play ball and they were doing a fantastic job. We played 6 innings, and it was the bottom of the 6th we were up to bat with the bases loaded. The score board was 13-12, (we had 12). We had 2 outs at this time but we very hopeful. Unfortunately, our team struck out and we lost the game. After this, we decided to go out to dinner because I had not prepared anything for when we got home. Finally, we got home around 9:30 p.m. and we got the kids to bed.

Well, then our alarm went off and we had to drag our exhausted bodies out of bed. I made breakfast and packed lunches and headed out to the ball field for our first game of the day (starting at 9 a.m. and team practice prior to that). Fortunately for us, the other team only had 7 players, so they had to forfiet the game (we still played, and let them use some of our team). Our next game was at 11 a.m. so we ran home so we could let Brooklyne take a quick nap. Our second game of the day we lost by 2 runs, but then we played that team again right after, and we won. This put us in the playoffs. We ran home so that Tanner and Brooklyne could take naps because the next game was at 4:30 p.m. Lucky for us, we were able to get one of the Young Women to come and babysit our 2 little sleepers and Donald, Kolby, Trent, and myself headed back to the ball fields. Our team SLAUGHTERED the other team, it was 18 -3. (By the way, this was the team that beat us Friday night in the rain.) So this means that we are in the Finals! This last game was extremely intense and such a nail biter. It was absolutely insane! The game was neck and neck the entire time, putting us into an extra inning. Our team was so worn out that our top players were nearly falling over as they would cross home plate. In the extra inning, our team fell apart and started making stupid mistakes. This allowed the other team to make 5 runs. When we were up to bat, we only made 3 runs, so we lost the championship game by 2 runs. Both teams got trophies and will have their pictures in the city newspaper.

You would think that with the night we had the evening before, and the full day outside, that we would head home and call it a night. NOPE, we must be glutten for punishment because we quickly grabs some pizza's and then headed to the RODEO. The kids had a great time. I am really grateful that we took the babysitter with us because between all three boys needing to go to the bathroom at different times, Brooklyne being a wiggle worm and Tanner being his usual self, we would have left the rodeo after about 30 minutes. Finally that night we got home around 10:30 p.m. and nearly crawled into bed and passed out for the night.

(Donald is NOT the Rodeo type, he is city, and I am country. I love that kind of stuff.)
Really we had a great time all day long. The weather was perfect, the kids were pretty good, Trent was doing a good job with his team, and his team was winning. Sadly, I forgot to bring sunscreen for the day! By the 4th game my arms were so red and killing me. I also have a spot on my nose that got burnt, but nowhere else. Donald, of course, did not get burnt at all, he just got darker (darn blessed olive skin tone). The kids, luckily did not get burnt much at all. Tanner and Kolby were both wearing hats and jeans, and Brooklyne wore long sleeves and pants becuase it was cool in the morning. So really, I was the only LOBSTER in the group.
Ok,,, here are some pictures I took of Brooklyne at the games Saturday. She was a total ham and was having a great time.
